The Mind Reset
“Don’t underestimate the value of doing nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.” -Winnie the Pooh
Fitness is an important part in our center for processing, also known as the brain. The stress we can receive from all parts of life can begin to cloud our minds, and cause us to not think and act properly. Just as the rest of our body, our mind needs a chance to get back on track to properly function. Getting alone in nature, feeling, hearing, and seeing all the beauty of God’s artistic hands can help give our processing system a reset. Often, I will sit alone in nature with the my Bible and worship music playing through my iPhone (be sure to have it on the “Do Not Disturb” setting). If having your iPhone near you is too difficult to allow peace and quiet, try leaving it in the car, house, etc. And in these moments of silence, do not be afraid to be completely vulnerable and real with your creator, for He cares about you. “Cast Your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken” (Psalm 55:22, NIV). I know that finding these precious moments of peace can be hard at times, but it is worth it in the end.
Now, Take the next opportunity to reset your mind!!
